Mr. Klopfer specializes in the disposition of multi-family communities located throughout Ohio as well as the Southern United States. His expertise lies in seller representation of local, regional and national investors, institutions, insurance companies and fiduciaries.
Mr. Klopfer concentrates 100% of his professional efforts towards the evaluation and sale of multifamily properties. Due to his extensive experience in repositioning of existing apartment properties, he is most often consulted and retained to represent owners selling their assets.

Mr. Klopfer has closed over $150 Million in multi-family transactions in Ohio ranging from 1890s to New Construction with cap rates as low as 6.57% on current stabilized numbers . He is recognized by his peers in the Commercial Real Estate industry and by numerous Clients for his strong analytical and problem solving skills and his strength as an advocate and counselor in real estate transaction matters.
For six years prior to joining Crawford Hoying, Mr. Klopfer was a senior associate in the National Multi Housing Group of Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services.
Other experience includes working as an International Tax consultant with Deloitte & Touche.

Derek Kinnear
Derek Kinnear
Responsibility:
Mr. Kinnear, co-founder of the Klopfer Kinnear Group, is knowledgeable in all apartment types from affordable housing to new construction. His primary focus is on multifamily assets located throughout Ohio and Kentucky. Mr. Kinnear consistently closes the tough deals while maximizing his client's profits.
Experience:
Mr. Kinnear has facilitated over 8,000 multifamily units and in addition has closed over 30 individual project based Section 8 deals. In addition to real estate, he has extensive experience in the construction field and has aided in the turn key delivery of multiple commercial projects including hotels, YMCA, government buildings and also high end residential homes.
For four years prior to joining Crawford Hoying, Mr. Kinnear was a senior associate with the National Multi Housing Group of Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services.
Before entering real estate, Mr. Kinnear was the sales manager for the Columbus branch of a private international organization.
Education:
Mr. Kinnear graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Civil Engineering and a specialization in structures. He was also a four year letter winner for The Ohio State University varsity baseball team. As a team captain, he was recognized on the watch list for the Johnny Bench Award which is awarded to the nation's best Division I collegiate catcher and was awarded numerous Big Ten conference honors. To this day he still holds Big Ten tournament hitting records.

Mr. McCune of the Klopfer Kinnear Group specializes in the consultation of buyers and sellers in the acquisition and disposition of multifamily properties located in Ohio and Kentucky. Matts primary focus is business development where he uses an aggressive combination of analysis, marketing, and creativity to bring new investment opportunities to our clients, and the local, regional and national multifamily markets.
Experience:
Mr. McCune joined the Klopfer Kinnear Group in 2006 with extensive experience in the multifamily property management industry. Serving as the Property Manager for a 400 unit apartment complex, he stabilized the propertys financials and effectively increased its NOI by over 10% in the first year. He has used his expertise and knowledge with his clients, which has helped them present their multifamily assets to the investment market in a way that helps ensure they receive the highest and best price.
For two years prior to joing Crawford Hoying, Mr. McCune was an associate with the National Multi Housing Group of Marcus & Millichap Reat Estate Investment Services.
Education:
Mr. McCune graduated in 2004 with a BA from The Ohio State University Knowlton School of Architecture. He was a four year letter winner on the Varsity Mens soccer team and was a starter for the team that won the programs first ever Big Ten Championship and birth in the NCAA Tournament.
